As part of Foodbuzz's Tastemaker program, I periodically receive food samples to test. Sometimes it's an ingredient for a recipe, or sometimes it's an actual product that should be eaten as is. Recently, I received free butter from Kerrygold. This all-natural dairy product is from the heartland of Ireland and, therefore, was just in time for St. Patty's day! I had the choice of getting butter and cheese, but I opted for two butters because I could use them in the Irish dinner and dessert my best friend and I made for our friends last weekend.
Since the butter was mixed in with the other ingredients, I don't really have any comments on its taste, however, I can tell you that the taste of the meals made from the butter were fantastic! So, this product must have some sort of quality, right? 🙂 In fact, if you read about it, you will learn that the butter is made from cows that are free from growth hormones, and the reason the butter is wrapped in foil is to keep out odors. Interesting!
Even though I didn't opt for the cheese, I did have the chance to try it at a grocery store in Detroit called Papa Joe's. Coincidentally, they were serving free samples so I took it as my opportunity to try it out. It was delicious and I soon regretted not opting for a package as a free trial.
If you are not familiar with the Foodbuzz community, I recommend checking it out, especially if you have a food blog. You can find local restaurant reviews and get in touch with other "foodies" in your community or around the world! And, just maybe you can become a Foodbuzz Tastemaker!

That's pretty cool that you got to try some. It is a very good butter I usually pick some up when it's on sale and use it for buttercream. I also buy their garlic herbs which is yum,yum good!

Fun! Butter with a little cinnamon raisin bread is my favorite.

Martha Stewart just used this on her show recently during a cooking segment. The audience also received some products from Kerrygold. I was so jealous! How lucky that you were also able to try it for free 🙂

My husband brought home some of this after having been "lured" into tasting some at Costco by the "little old ladies" as he calls the taste testers. We didn't bake or cook with it but served it at every opportunity we could with fresh baked bread or toast. It is sinful but divine. I likes that it seemed to be just a bit saltier than our usual store brand butter.
