It wasn't too long ago that these cookies went viral around the food blogging world. When seeing them pop up on blog after blog, my curiosity got the best of me and I had to give them a try. The verdict? Honestly, they weren't my favorite. Just a tad bit too much for me. But, I am sharing them with you today because there have been so many good reviews of them and the college students that received them loved them.
So, if you want to make some extremely rich cookies that go over the top, these are the ones for you. Have you already made them? What did you think? And, if you haven't made them yet, will your curiosity get the best of you, too?

These look fantastic! Definitely an indulgent cookie that I'll be making the next time I bake. Yum! -Rebecca

If you make them, do it in a muffin tin so that they stay compact 🙂

Anything having to do with chocolate chip cookies usually equals weakness for me. I adore oreos too but I have to say, this wasn't quite as mind-blowing as I had hoped. Like someone mentioned in an earlier reply, they did not come out looking cute at all like the pictures I had seen. I just didn't dig the crunchy oreo in the middle. I could have handled just frosting in the middle of a chocolate chip cookie...I'll stick with a double doozie when I want to overindulge from now on. 😉

I made these for work one time. They were the talk of the office literally. There are 100svof people in my office and I had people coming to me that I didnt even know asking me if I had any more. The simplest thing is always the best.

Saw your question on Tastespotting. I'm so relieved to hear I'm not the only one who wasn't a die-hard fan. Wouldn't keep them in the arsenal. Nice pics, though!

You know, Im totally passing on this one. I don't think Oreos are even that good..lol What I did fall head over heels in love with though was the rolo stuffed chocolate chip cookie! I will never beable to make a regular chocolate chip cookie again. They were fantastic.

I also made these, after seeing them everywhere. My boyfriend loved them (surprised??) but I wasn't impressed. It was just an oreo in a cookie to me. There was no magical thing that happened by combining the two and it is what it is. I'd rather have a cookie OR an oreo, no need for both.

Vicki - I agree! 🙂

Yeah, not my thing either. I can see why people would go crazy over them because it's just SO MUCH, but I'll just take the chocolate chip part 😉

Count me in on not being impressed by these.

I am one of the many bloggers who tried this recipe. I also saw them time after time until I was just too curious and had to try making them myself. I think mine were the only ones that didn't turn out....that I can see anyway. Well, mine tasted wonderful and folks loved them but my choc chip cookie dough spread so much during baking that the oreo seemed like a small speck in the middle of the huge chocolate chip cookie. It's hard to explain but they did not look pretty at all (see for yourself on my blog) but they tasted delicious. They were also extremely messy to make. Long fingernails and handling sticky cookie dough with your hands is a bad combination. I don't think I'd make them again but it was interesting to try them once. Yours look perfect! Really nice and compact.

This is madness!!! You've just combined two of my absolute favorite snacks. I think I might die of happiness!!!

I made them and they just weren't my thing, either. Just a little too much for me, too. 🙂

I haven't made these, but I do keep seeing them pop up. I'm sure at some point I'll make them when I see them again a few more times. Although, woah, Kim with the Thin Mint stuffed cookies. That sounds amazing.
Twinisms says
I didn't make these, but I made the brownie recipe with a whole bag of oreos crumbled up in it. Meh.
Kim says
I haven't tried the Oreo stuffed ones, but I DID make ones with Thin Mints in the middle, and they were heavenly.
