Penny Pincher & Quick Fix – Water & Lemon

DSC_4938

I’m hosting a jewelry party tonight and got out of work late… So, here’s a quick post to a quick fix and penny pinching idea. Stock up on sliced lemons, store them in a freezer bag and when you serve water they are ready to dress up your pitcher! *UPDATE* As I was reminded by […]

The Farmhouse Restaurant [Branson, MO]

Another restaurant we visited in Branson is the Farmhouse Restaurant. It is right in the classic downtown area and was very popular with a line out the door. The food was ok… not as big of a menu as I usually like for breakfast. But, it was very affordable!

What a great idea for using the few mason jars I have on hand!

Rib Crib Barbecue [Branson, MO]

Ben and I traveled to Branson, MO this weekend. We did not go to sight-see Branson. We went because it was a middle meeting place (driving distance) for us and our friends. But, I have to say, I marveled at the sights of the city. No where else have I seen such abundance of cheesy […]

My Best Friend Loves Me!

My best girl friend sent me a birthday gift the other day. It is the cutest apron ever! It’s from a boutique called Everyday Chic. Check out their website for other cute aprons, handbags and accessories.I love the one she picked for me. They all are pretty vintage looking, but this one is the best! […]

Cinnamon Chip Scones

Unfortunately I didn’t get a great pic. I love the cinnamon chip scones from Starbucks and really wanted to recreate it so I didn’t have to buy them any more. I searched the internet for a recipe but found nothing. So, I decided to take the plunge and do it myself. Using the recipe for […]

Four- Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

DSC_4738

I found these cookies on Bakerella’s blog, but she uses five ingredients. I left out the crushed peanuts because I am not a huge fan of nuts. If you do not want to dip the cookies in chocolate, then it’s a three ingredient recipe. Lovely! Although, if you are looking to impress, the peanuts actually […]

TCHO Chocolate – “Nutty”

DSC_4733

I received more TCHO chocolate the other day. What’s that you say? How am I getting all of this FREE chocolate!? Well, it all began in the land of BlakeMakes where I became a Sooper Hero; meaning I would receive samples of new food, taste it and blog about it. This land of Blake Makes […]

Italian Tomato Cups

DSC_4630

As promised, here is another dish from the hat decorating party last Thursday night. My friend (who co-hosted the party with me) brought this appetizer. It’s so simple, but SO delicious! The slogan, “once you pop you can’t stop,” should be used for these. Italian Tomato Cups Cut cherry tomatoes in half, scoop out middle […]

Penny Pincher: Freecycle

Okay… so this isn’t exactly food related, but it’s Penny Pinching related. I think that’s reason enough to include it on this blog. Tonight, we met for our first small group meeting for church. It was the official cook out kick off. During our cook out my friend, Stacey, mentioned that she is never going […]
