Last month, I introduced you to a new line of products you can find in the store called Kraft Recipe Makers. Using Kraft Recipe Makers, you combine two savory sauces supplied in the box with your own fresh ingredients to make a delicious weeknight dinner. Creating depths of flavor into a dish has never been this easy!
My first trial with Kraft Recipe Makers, I followed one of the recipes given on the box. This time, I wanted to create my own. I put Kraft Recipe Maker's claim to the test with this Italian chicken recipe.
Although I haven't shared my original recipe here on the blog yet, I have a favorite Italian chicken dish that a friend introduced to me when we lived in California a few years ago. I've made it at home quite a few times. This recipe incorporates layers of flavor by adding multiple ingredients in complex steps.
My goal was to try to revamp this recipe by using the two sauces in Kraft Recipe Makers "Chicken Cacciatore" box. Watch how it's done with this video I made you:
What usually takes me at least 45 minutes to complete was done within 30 minutes instead. I say this was a winning outcome!
Keeping it simple, I floured chicken tenders and seared them. Removed them from the pan, cooked garlic and shallots, then added the simmer sauce to deglaze the pan. I then added the chicken back along with black olives and capers. Then, I cut open the package of cooking sauce and poured that in and let it all cook for about 15 minutes. While that was cooking, I boiled some pasta. And that's it!
While it wasn't the exact same taste as my original recipe that doesn't use the Kraft Recipe Makers, it still was quite comparable and still very flavorful. I would make it again! Here's the written recipe:
