Judah America

Happy 4th of July weekend!  We celebrated Thursday night by shooting fireworks at a friends' house.  What did you do?

Last weekend my parents drove 13 hours from Michigan to visit us for just two days.  They are freaks, I know.  But, I also love them and they are the best grandparents in the world!!  So, Judah was very happy to see them, was spoiled rotten by them, and then sad to see them leave so soon.

This weekend, Ben's parents are visiting from Maryland.  They flew.  They are also the best grandparents in the world (yep, competition is strong, folks!) and so Judah is once again very happy and getting spoiled rotten.

We are going to have a "great" week next week as Judah recovers from all the spoiling and we're left with just rotten.

Pray for me.

😉

Lately On Seeded at the Table:
This section highlights the recipes posted recently on Seeded at the Table and other updates to the blog, if any.

It's been a while since I've done a Saturday Seeds post, so there are a ton of recipes since the last.  I'll share a few below in case you forgot about them:

Key Lime Pie
Key Lime Pie - Use regular limes or key limes to make this surprisingly very easy pie! Enjoy all spring and summer!

Chicago-Style Hot Dog
Chicago-Style Hot Dog - All-beef frankfurters wedged in a poppyseed bun then "dragged through the garden."

Portillos Chopped Salad
Portillo's Chopped Salad - Freshly chopped ingredients, tossed with a sweet Italian dressing. A copycat of Portillo's famous chopped salad. Serves well as a stand-alone meal or an accompanying side dish.

Slice and Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies
Slice 'n Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies - Sometimes it's just nice to have a log of homemade cookie dough readily available to quickly slice and bake! Did I mention these make perfect cookies for ice cream sandwiches?

Brussels Sprouts with Mango and Bacon
Brussels Sprouts with Mango and Bacon - You'll like anything cooked in bacon fat ...even Brussels sprouts, right?

Homemade Rock Candy
Homemade Rock Candy - A fun and tasty science experiment for the kids! These would also make great party favors! (Allow 7 days for this one!)

Loving Lately:
Here I will share with you my favorite things of late, along with other snippets that have caught my eye from some of my favorite blogs and websites.

GH Cretors Popped Corn
G.H. Cretors Popped Corn - Y'all.  This popcorn is spectacular! You see, as a former Chicago suburbanite, I know that popcorn is a thing in Chicago.  And, I miss that thing.  I'm so glad to have found this treat by G.H. Cretors, a Chicago company.  Their popcorn uses all-natural ingredients with recipes that have been passed down from five generations!  Honestly, it's popped corn...not popcorn.  Even better, right?  Five flavors make up this family:  Caramel Corn, Kettle Corn, Chicago Mix, Cheese Corn and Caramel Nut Crunch.  I love all five, but if you have to ask me my favorite?  You can probably guess it's the Chicago Mix, which is both caramel and cheese corn together!

You can find G.H. Cretors Popped Corn at select natural food and mainstream grocery stores.  Or, buy online at www.amazon.com or www.ghcretors.com.  G.H. Cretors sent me free samples of their popped corn, but the opinions expressed are of my own genuine love for their products.

CookieHound

CookieHound - Do you dream of cookies?  Do you love Pinterest?  Then you need to check out the new website, CookieHound, where you can browse through tons of recipes for guess what... COOKIES!!  Cookie Monster would love this place on the web. 😉 If you're a food blogger, then you definitely need to head on over and submit your cookie posts to add to the already fabulous collection!

Dollar Shave Club

Dollar Shave Club - Okay, this is really from Ben.  He joined this Dollar Shave Club a couple of months ago and LOVES it.  Now, he tells all of his friends and family that they, too, must join the club.  Ha!  It actually is a great deal, and you receive great razors on a subscription basis.  You should check it out, even if you're just thinking of it as a gift.  If anything, head over there and watch the hilarious "About" video.  It's definitely worth a page visit.

That's all I've got!  I'm actually very tired and trying to ignore the annoying rattling coming from my desk lamp.  (Apparently I type too hard or something to make it shake like that.  Huh.) Have a happy Saturday!

Ahh, the grandparent visits. We also suffer from those same "great" weeks after they visit. I'll have that to look forward to next week! We call it "degrandmafying" - the process of recovering from too much Grandma spoiling! 😉 Good luck!
