Use almond milk instead of heavy cream and butter for a skinnier protein-packed version of chocolate spread. Enjoy on graham crackers for a guiltless treat, or a fun snack for your kids.

Skinny Chocolate SpreadMy in-laws first introduced me to almond milk a few years ago. I didn't buy into it then. It sounded weird and honestly, not good. Not too long ago, I finally tried it and was surprised at how much I actually liked it!

Skinny Chocolate SpreadAfter reading about the benefits of almond milk over cow's milk, I decided to keep a carton around, however, not completely replacing our cow's milk (not sure I could ever do that)! But, I do like switching up whole milk and almond milk for Simon, especially. Both of my kids love almond milk and I love giving them the extra nutrition it provides.

Skinny Chocolate SpreadLately, we've been enjoying Silk's Almondmilk with Protein + Fiber. It's packed with 5 gram of protein and 5 grams of fiber. It also has 50% more calcium than dairy milk! Plus, there are no artificial colors or flavors. No monkey business!

Skinny Chocolate SpreadAlthough I wanted to share the nutritious benefits of almond milk with you, I also wanted to give you a couple of ways to incorporate it into your every day use. We have poured it over cereal and mixed into smoothies.

Skinny Chocolate SpreadAnd, I sometimes incorporate it into different recipes when I feel like it. Like this chocolate spread. It's like a ganache, but without the fattening butter and heavy cream. Only two ingredients needed, and about 5 minutes of your time.

Skinny Chocolate SpreadThis chocolate spread is a fun treat for your kids, too, especially when spread on graham crackers. Who am I kidding, though? Whenever I get this out for them, I have my fair share, too!

Skinny Chocolate SpreadSince I started running, I've been more aware of what I eat. I've told you before, I haven't really changed what I eat, but how much I consume. But, sometimes I also try to make a skinnier version of a recipe if it doesn't alter the taste.

That's why I love this chocolate spread so much. Using the almond milk instead of butter and heavy cream doesn't hurt the taste. It's still rich, creamy and wonderful. Maybe even more so!
