Ingredients
13.8oztub refrigerated pizza crust dough
1 ½cupsPizza sauce or marinara sauce
12largepepperoni slices
12deli slices of mozzarella cheese
sliced black olives, optional
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone liner.
Roll out dough to about 10x14-inch rectangle on cutting board.
Use 3-inch round cookie cutters (or top of a drinking glass) to cut 12 discs in the dough. Place onto baking sheet, at least 1 inch apart. Pre-bake crusts for 8 minutes.
Meanwhile, use a cookie cutter to cut out ghost shapes in cheese slices. And/or slice cheese into strips for mummies; set aside.
Remove crusts from oven and spread a tablespoon or two of sauce on top of each. Top with pepperoni slice (optional). Decorate as desired by layering cheese ghosts or strips of cheese for mummy faces with two sliced olives for eyes.
Bake an additional 2 to 3 minutes, checking after 2 minutes to make sure the cheese doesn’t melt out of shape. Serve immediately.
Notes
Do not forget to pre-bake the crust. The first time I made these I forgot, so the longer baking time with the toppings made the cheese melt and lose its shape.
Bake only until the cheese JUST starts to melt. Do not let them bubble because it will ruin the designs.
Eyes on ghosts are optional, but necessary for the mummy faces.
Fun Idea: Let kids decorate their own Halloween pizza!
