DSC_5034

We had a spaghetti dinner Saturday night at our friends. I was asked to bring an appetizer, so I quickly looked through some of the food blogs I read for ideas. This Baked Brie recipe from Jaime stood out because it looked fast and extremely easy! I made a quick list to jet out to […]

German Potato Pancakes (Kartoffelpuffer)

DSC_4993

I wanted to try something new. For our rehearsal dinner (3 years ago), we had different stations of food. At one of the stations they served miniature potato pancakes with different toppings. I remembered they were SOOO good and just had to Google for a recipe. After searching and comparing, I found this one to […]

Penny Pincher: The Melting Pot

MeltingPot

You are probably wondering how an expensive place like The Melting Pot can ever be in one of my Penny Pincher categories. Well, let me enlighten you… If you live in the area, the Oakbrook Terrace location (on Roosevelt Rd) is shutting it’s doors for good. This Saturday is their last day, because they have […]

Enchilada Lasagna

Please click here for an updated photo and recipe. Lately I haven’t been motivated to take nice photos of our dinners. After working all day then coming home and cooking, I’m too drained to think of a cute, creative way to capture my plate on camera. And, the dark nights are now arriving earlier, so […]

Another quick fix idea for you. (This is my “go-to” appetizer.) I always have a block of cream cheese in the fridge because it can be used for so many dishes. One of my favorite appetizers is to find a delicious salsa with a sweet flavor included, pour it on top of the cream cheese […]

The Farmhouse Restaurant [Branson, MO]

DSC08782

Another restaurant we visited in Branson is the Farmhouse Restaurant. It is right in the classic downtown area and was very popular with a line out the door. The food was ok… not as big of a menu as I usually like for breakfast. But, it was very affordable!

Rib Crib Barbecue [Branson, MO]

Ben and I traveled to Branson, MO this weekend. We did not go to sight-see Branson. We went because it was a middle meeting place (driving distance) for us and our friends. But, I have to say, I marveled at the sights of the city. No where else have I seen such abundance of cheesy […]
