Since my re-brand last February, you have probably noticed me writing about a little more than just recipes. (The whole purpose of my re-brand.) 🙂 I love sharing with my readers the different experiences I have with various products, so that maybe I can help you make well-informed purchase decisions. This is especially important to me when it comes to baby products. There are so many choices out there of brands, features, styles, accessories, that it can be very difficult to make up your mind on which to choose. It's no different when it comes to car seats, yet it's probably the most critical area of making sure you choose wisely.

September is Baby Safety Month, so let's talk about choosing a safe convertible car seat! Britax is focused on making their car seats as safe as possible, and designs them so they are fully loaded with best-in-class safety features that far exceed federal standards. They graciously sent me one of their Boulevard 70-G3 convertible car seats to test and review, and then are offering one as a giveaway to you!

When I received this car seat, I noticed it was a bit heavier than the past seat I used for Judah. To me, this is a good thing when considering a safer, more heavy-duty car seat. But, without even lifting or touching it, I could see in plain sight that this car seat leads the way in safety features.

Look at the sturdy sides of this seat! Approximately one in four of all motor vehicle crashes that involve children occur from side impact. The Boulevard 70-G3 features a rigid shell with deep side walls lined with energy-absorbing foam that provides Side Impact Protection.

This specific model also offers a second layer of protection with energy-absorbing True Side Impact Protection head restraint that keeps the head, neck and spine aligned.

You will also see the label "SafeCell Technology" a couple of times on this car seat. SafeCell Technology is SafeCells that are engineered to compress in a crash, reducing forward movement. You will find this technology in the base of the car seat, significantly lowering the center of gravity in a crash and counteracting forward rotation of the seat. And, it is also integrated into the BRITAX HUGS Chest Pads, reducing forward movement on impact.

Safety matters when it comes to car seats. I want one that will protect my child. And Britax convertible car seats have so many safety features -- and knowing that makes me feel like my child is safe while in the car. Click here to learn more about Britax safety features.
