This is one of my favorite meals. Cavatelli with vodka sauce. My friend introduced this lovely pasta to me a few years ago when we had a girls night at a random Italian restaurant in Oak Park. We didn't know what we were going to do, or where we were going to go... so we ended up taking the train to Oak Park and came across this quaint little Italian restaurant where the food was excellent. The bummer is, I can't even remember the name! I keep saying over and over again that I want to go back.

I had a hard time finding cavatelli pasta in the grocery store. If you are not familiar with it, the pasta resembles the denseness of gnocchi, but the size of a small penne. When a store carries it, you can find it in the frozen food aisle. I finally found it at a fresh market across the street from work. They must've just started carrying it, because I've looked there many times before!!

My favorite sauce to eat with it is vodka sauce with some fresh parmesan. The best vodka sauce I've found so far is from Trader Joes. It's a pretty inexpensive meal, because it's filling. Just find a veggie to serve along with some good bread, and you're set!
