It's unbelievable! Today is the one year birthday of Pennies on a Platter! When I started this blog, I didn't even know how many other food blogs were out there. The one blog that gave me inspiration was Joe's Culinary in the Country, but after I started mine and began receiving comments from other "Foodies" I realized this food blogging world was much bigger than I even imagined!
I can't even describe how much fun it's been and how much I've grown through having this blog. It's been a fun hobby for me while Ben studies away for his dissertation (which he defends this Friday!!) At the beginning, I just made meals from my cookbooks and from recipes I saw on the Food Network. Now, I've started posting Penny Pincher tips, joined the Daring Bakers, found an awesome group of Nesties who have food blogs, and have become a featured Publisher for Foodbuzz.
Today I had to ask myself, what were my favorite recipes posted this year on my blog? I thought about narrowing it down to my top ten, but didn't want to limit it. So, here are my favorites (top 14).

There you have it. I've had almost 8,000 hits in the last 12 months. Most of them came since September. I have one more fun adventure I've just recently joined that you will soon find out about... It includes me getting free food, baking with it, then posting it. As my new foodie friend, Blake, would say... "Stay tuned!"

That's funny, Culinary in the Country was one of the first food blogs I started reading too.
