Located just over 30 minutes northeast of Grand Rapids, MI, Klackle Orchards is a great place to take your family this fall for wagon rides, apple and pumpkin picking, donuts and cider and a whole bunch of other family fun activities. (A few of the photos below are from our visit in 2012, but most are from this year 2013.)
Klackle Orchards has become a Fall tradition for my family. Every year we drive up to Michigan during Ben's week-long Fall break and enjoy everything that a Pure Michigan fall has to offer. A few of the "must-do" items on our list is to eat a copious amount of donuts, drink a ton of cider and take the kids apple and pumpkin picking. Klackle Orchards has all of this, and more!
When you arrive Klackle Orchards, first stop into the Cornucopia Market and grab yourself some donuts and cider, then maybe also a caramel apple. Then head on out to Klackleville where fun filled times await!
I recommend going on a weekday when the admission price is a few dollars less and the crowd is not as big. There are a few more activities included during the weekends, but for us the weekday events are perfect and we're not waiting in long lines.
The kids can ride pedal carts, drive toy tractors in the sand, have a pony ride, pet a few animals, ride a carousel and other fun finds before jumping on the wagon to pick pumpkins and apples.
Every half hour, the wagon leaves to take you to the apple orchard and pumpkin patch so you can pick out a ¼ peck of apples (included with your admission) and a pumpkin or two that you pay for based on size.
Last year, the apple orchards were not open for self-pick, so admission included a pumpkin. The wagon stops a couple of times while everyone heads out to pick their loot. But, watch out. We were having so much fun picking our apples and taking pictures, that we just about missed the wagon ride back!
The carousel ride is not included in the admission, but is only $2 extra if I remember right.

I've never been to Klackle Orchards but it sounds like so much fun! Although, growing up in Northern Michigan means I can definitely attest to those awesome Pure Michigan falls. 🙂 Can't wait to check this place out the next time I'm back up north!
