Tropical PizzaLast week I posted this Pineapple-Mango Salsa that Ben and I absolutely love.  In that post, I mentioned I would share with you another way I've used the salsa, which I'm calling Tropical Pizza.  The Perfect Pizza Crust is topped with the salsa, barbecue sauce, bacon and cheese.  How can you not love it!?

Tropical PizzaI'm so excited for you to try this.  There's a chance I might not share any new pizza recipes because by the time pizza day arrives each week, this is what I'm craving!  😉

Tropical Pizza

Printable Recipe

half batch Perfect Pizza Crust
1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
half recipe Pineapple Mango Salsa
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
fresh cilantro, for garnish

Place pizza stone in the lower third of the oven. Heat the oven to 500˚ for at least 30 minutes. Shape the pizza crust dough and transfer to a pizza peel or sheet of parchment paper dusted with semolina or cornmeal.

Evenly spread the barbecue sauce over the pizza crust, layer with the salsa, cheese and crumbled bacon.

Slide the dough onto the pizza stone. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes.

Garnish with cilantro and enjoy!

Yum! I have some pineapple salsa I made the other day that I'm not too crazy about. So maybe the leftovers will be going on this pizza. When mixed w/ BBQ sauce and cheese, couldn't be wrong, right?
