Walgreens Recipe BookAs part of the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program, I was supplied a gift card to try out Walgreens Photo Center.  I already use their same-day online photo printing, so I took the opportunity to create a product from their photo gift options instead.  Because of all of their options - from personalized photo mugs, calendars, mouse pads, collages and more - it took me some time to decide what to make.  Finally, I had an idea.  I chose to put together a photo recipe book of 20+ of my favorite recipes from Pennies on a Platter and then give one away to one of you!

On Walgreens' online photo center site, you can upload any of your photos then use them to display in a hard-cover book.  There are hundreds of template and design options to choose from.  I chose one that was kitchen-themed.  Even though the layout choices are very limited (how to display your photos and text) you really can't beat the quality for the price!  Plus, after I was done putting it all together online, it was ready for me to pick up within the hour!

Walgreens Recipe Book2Would you like this recipe book?  Just leave me a comment below with the name of your favorite recipe on Pennies on a Platter, or if you are new here, then tell me which recipe on the blog you can't wait to make!   Contest closes 10/19 at 10 PM PST. Next week I will announce the winner and will personally send you the recipe book (maybe even autographed... ha!).   Wouldn't it be cool to have this book that probably includes some of your favorites, too?  You wouldn't have to print it off my site anymore and save some ink and paper!  See?  Win-win!  😉

(I'll be out of town for a few days at a retreat where I'm not sure I'll have internet access.  So, if you leave a comment and don't see it right away, I will publish it when I return.)

First on the list is definitely the recipe for the pumpkin spice donut holes. I love that they're baked instead of fried (seeing all that grease grosses me out) and pumpkin is perfect for fall. Thanks for posting such yummy looking recipes!

As a young(ish) lady in law school, I don't have a lot of time to make food. The easier and quicker the better! I started following this site after I saw numerous pins from it on Pinterest, and I love it! Practically every recipe is something that even a limited skill cook as myself can accomplish. Being from the south, football is a huge part of everyday life, and I am bringing the Pizza Bites to tailgating for the Homecoming game this weekend. I gave my friends some options to pick from(all from this website), and the Pizza Bites were the undoubtable winner. This will be the first time for me to make them, but I'm confident that they will turn out fabulous and be perfect for a fall football get-together!

While there are so many of your recipes that I am eager to try, I think the Pumpkin Butter and the Pizza Margherita are the first two I need to try. I want to use my homegrown butternut squash for the Pumpkin butter, as it will add it's own sweetness. I love that kind of pizza, too, and this year I have my own garlic from the garden (tomatoes too, of course) and goat cheese from our goats, although believe it or not, I never got up to planting any basil this year! Shucks. I think I will teach my 10-year-old to make the crust, so I don't have to worry about that part. Because your recipes use so many healthy ingredients, it's fun to try to make it all home-grown (although I am going to try the seven-layer {magic bars} soon too, and we don't grow ANY of those ingredients here. chuckle
btw, your photography always amazes me. I sit and try to figure out how you could have know that that was just the right angle and just the right backdrop. They are ALWAYS gorgeous photos with LOTS of creativity.
Next time you come to visit your parents, you need to come out with your Mom and sister and visit our horses and goats with Judah. We usually have some baby goats around and the horses LOVE giving rides to little guys (my littlest is 1 year today).

thanks for all the tasty ideas and pictures you share, and for creating such a FUN blog to read, 🙂 katie graves

I did not think everything would work out, but I trusted the recipe and it was a good call. Everyone should make this pizza at least once in their life.
