Thanks for the chance to win a pizza peel. I got my first stone for Christmas, but I'm finding it's hard to maneuver without a peel!
My current favorite pizza is a Thai chicken pizza. For the sauce, I use a Thai peanut sauce. On top of that, sprinkle a thinly sliced red and yellow pepper (a mandoline gives paper-thin slices), chopped scallions, and chopped cilantro. Next, scatter thin slices of a mesquite-grilled chicken breast. Place tiny dots of cream cheese (1 or two ounces) randomly in spaces between the chicken pieces, and bake for 10-12 minutes at 500 degrees.
This is also really good cut into small squares for an appetizer.

My favorite pizza is Arni's in Indiana - there are probably 6 to 8 locations spread throughout Indiana. What makes it great? They grind the pepperoni - sooooo good! It's very similar to Pizza King (also love!). It's the only type of pizza I like sausage on as well.

Happy New Year to you & your family Nikki! Also, I would like to wish Judah a Happy Belated 1st Birthday. I am not certain if, you remember me, or not. I am Cara Swartz's older sister. I realize this may be a conflict regarding the contest. Feel free to take me out if need be.
However, I still wanted to include one of our favorite pizza pie recipes. My husband & I have tried to recreate specialty pizza shops (PieWorks & the like). A sure-fired winner has been the Chicken Buffalo Bleu Pizza.
Ingredients:
1 Pizza crust (We usually buy a premade one such as Mama Maria's).
1-2 Celery stalks finely chopped
2.5 cups Cubed chicken (or you may also shred the chicken to your liking)
Moore's Buffalo WIng Sauce (We always eyeball it. The key is...Make sure it's enough to coat the chicken!)
1-2 Tablespoons Bleu Cheese dressing
2 cups Mozzarella Shredded Cheese (Skim, 2%, or Whole Milk- Again, your preference.)
First, take the bleu cheese dressing & spread it evenly along crust (instead of a traditional pizza sauce). Second, place the cubed chicken in a separate bowl & add the buffalo sauce (enough to coat all the chicken). Then, add the chicken to the pie. Spread the celery evenly amongst the chicken. Top the pie with the mozzarella cheese. Place in the oven @ 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes (depending upon the oven). Lastly, let the pizza rest for at least 5 minutes & then enjoy!

There are so many! Ham and pineapple is probably our go-to, but feta cheese, black olives, marinated artichokes and diced tomatoes (add extra veggies) is delicious, too! For a non sauce variety, we do roasted butternut squash, sauteed spinach and caramelized onions (just brush on olive oil in place of sauce). Yum!

I once ate a fancy schmancy pizza place and was totally disturbed that they did not have pepperoni ... good ol, plain pepperoni. I ordered one of the few familiar things on the menu, which was a chicken alfredo pizza. And Oh.MY.WORD., it was the BEST piece of pizza I have EVER put in my mouth. That place soon became my favorite place for pizza, I tried other stuff on the menu, all very good, but none ever measured up to the first pizza. And I wish like crazy I could find a way to replicate it, but no recipe I have ever found was the same.... SO good!

I love BLT Pizza! On the crust, you put just a little olive oil inflused with garlic. Top with some bacon, tomato and cheese. Cook it like that until brown and bubbly. Then you smear mayo on top and top it off with shredded lettuce. Yum!

I love the toppings on a Mexican Pizza - ground beef, tomato taco sauce (or salsa), grated cheese, kidney beans (or refried beans), chopped red onion, topped with sour cream, avocado, and crushed tortilla chips.
When I visited Australia last year I found that they had some of the most inventive toppings such as garlic tiger prawns on roasted red capsicum topped with fresh arugula & aioli, thinly sliced lamb fillets marinated in garlic & white wine, with roast pumpkin, marinated mushrooms & shallots, topped with crushed pistachios & finely chopped rosemary, and cherry tomatoes, roast pumpkin, caramelized onion, toasted pine nuts and feta, with wild arugula.

My fave homemade pizza that I make (and my husband begs me to make more often) is made with whole wheat crust, homemade pesto (evoo, pine nuts, fresh basil, salt, garlic, and walnuts [opt.]), chicken stir-fried in garlic, and some blend of parmesan/romano/asiago. It's amazing--and it's really not the cook--it's the combo!

We had pizza last night...funny. I used bread flour in the dough recipe for the first time, I'm not convinced it was better. I used the traditional sausage olive combo. The area where I experiment the most is in the cheese ....I love cheese. Fontina is wonderful on pizza's. Our deli sells both the Italian variety and the Danish. I adore both.

I use ingredients that are VERY filling. I do a seafood pizza which is, of course, acquired taste. I use any combination of these: steamed squid (cut into rings), sardines in chili tomato sauce (Ligo Brand), smoked oysters, canned tuna, artichoke hearts, red pepper, black olives, crimini mushrooms, jalapenos, garlic, oregano, and of course mozzarella. One of our favorite variations is BBQ Chicken Pizza. It's a great way to use up leftover chicken, or in the summer, we may throw an extra chicken breast on the grill especially for pizza late in the week!
Our version of BBQ Chicken Pizza is made with homemade whole-wheat crust, our favorite BBQ sauce, grilled chicken, shredded monterey jack cheese, a sprinkle of red or green onion, and I like to top my half with avocado after it comes out of the oven! YUUUM!

I love your site! My family makes home-made pizza almost every Friday night. The kids like it plain and simple, I throw a bit of garlic powder in a simple crust recipe, then make 1/2 cheese and 1/2 with pepperoni. Now, my husband and I have more fun with ours. We're still working on finding the perfect crust, but top the pizza depending on our mood, and what's in the fridge. We start with a home-made sauce made from a can of tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs & spices. We're traditionalists, pepperoni is a must, often with diced ham, fresh chopped tomatoes, red onion, bacon, green pepper, and, of course, plenty of cheese. Not a low fat night, but yummy!

Out current staple is the mexican pizza where we use salsa instead of sauce and ground beef seasoned for our meat! A splash of cheese and jalapeno with all our favorite olives! I didn't think I'd like a barbecue pizza, but I made one the other day that was really good and really simple. I made a homemade thick crust and spread some barbecue sauce on it instead of pizza sauce. I topped that with cooked ground meat moistened with a little more barbecue sauce (I used venison, but you could use beef, pork, chicken), added a generous amount of mozzarella cheese, and on half of it, I added chopped green pepper and onion. Mmmm!

I love making pizza! I'm finally getting better at it and I bought an Emily Henry pizza stone (highly recommended, you can even clean it in the dishwasher). I've been using the back of a baking sheet as a pizza peel, but I'm ready to step my game up. Can you share where you got this one for all of us who don't win? It looks like it's easier to store with that nice, short handle.

He made a bunch of homemade sauce that we just defrost when we make a pizza. The best toppings, in my opinion, are sauteed peppers and onions plus the variety pack of mushrooms pre-sauteed to drain the water out. One of the best pizzas I make is an adaptation of California Pizza Kitchen's Tostada Pizza. Bake your crust. Add refried beans and salsa (and cheddar cheese, if desired)...bake for about 5-10 more minutes. Top with shredded lettuce, diced green onions, chopped tomatoes, chopped cilantro and crushed tortilla chips. In a small container make a southwestern ranch by adding ranch (I do a homemade soy ranch) and either hot sauce or cayenne pepper. Drizzle on top of the pizza. Slice and enjoy!

Favorite pizza topping?! OMGosh! We just love pizza! We have 2 favs in our house, other than just plain old cheese n pepperoni. One is ground beef, onions and mushrooms. It's kind of a mild pizza, but sometimes you want home baked meat and potatoes on a pizza.
